The fine crag of Sentinel Rock gives some superb extremes of up to 95m. A little way further along you'll find Ship Rock and The Shining Wall which offer some of the best rock in the Dirc and are also well worth a visit.
Classics include:
The Man with the Child in his Eyes E5 6b
Fanfare for the Common Man E5 6b
The Scent of a Woman E5 6b
Working Class Hero E2 5c
After passing the Dalwhinnie Distillery, drive around 1km along the road and up the hill. At the top of the hill a private road on the left marked "Old Drovers Road" marks the start of the approach. Park on the verge, do not drive down the private road.
On foot, follow the private road passing under a house, then ascend the embankment to join the old drovers road again. Follow this crossing a stream a few times until you reach a fense. Cross a final time and follow a line of eletrical pylons until a waterfall sorrounded by trees is visable. Approach the waterfall and contour round the tree line until the crag is visable.

Great location but the less travelled routes could do with more traffic. Mike-W-99 - 01/May/17 |
