An interesting and enjoyable traverse through some impressive scenery. Traverse left to the entrance to a sea arch which runs under where the castle once stood. Belay on a ledge just above the sea. Now traverse photogenically through the arch, never more than 2m above the high water mark. The next four pitches keep going left, never more than 6m above the water, on steep rock with perfect holds. Continue to the end of the peninsula (although it is possible to escape earlier). Can also be done in reverse.

βeta: Can be done at high tide if the sea is fairly calm. The arch itself is somewhat sheltered. Found the scramble down to the start a bit scarier that expected. An alternative might be to scramble to the far seaward end of the arch and then climb round to the right (south) to do the route in reverse. | ||
