Sune Buur climbs Masken (7+) in Bohuslän, Sweden © astrange
A popular crag consisting of two sections:
Lilla Galgeberget - The smaller crag has many beautiful but hard routes.
Stora Galgeberget - The larger of the two crags has two faces. The west face is visible from the parking area and contains a number of excellent mid-grade routes. The South face lies further around to the right. There is one good new-beginner's route, Återkomsten (4+), and a number of very good mid-to-upper grade routes. The trees were cleared from beneath the south face in 2015 giving the crag a very different feel.
The road is private but it’s OK to use it, drive slow, dont make a shortcut over the parking lot when you are turning in on the gravel road at Röe Café! Park on the left side just before the crag – nowhere else! If full, go back to the big parking at Röe Gård and enjoy the hike back. There is a fee now to park at the crag and you can use the Parkster app to pay. Please see the signs at the car park. This ensures continued access and helps pay for maintaining the road to the crag, which is privately funded, partly from the proceeds from the parking.
People are living on the other side of the meadow. High sound level by the cliff is very easily heard from these houses. Please show respect to the neighbours and keep an extra low profile / sound level.
