Seals breed in Parliament House cave during the autumn months and climbers should take particular care not to disturb them during the time from late August to late October when the young seal pups can be eailsiy sepreated from their mothers with devastating consequences.
A large (huge!) rockfall occured at the back of Parliement House Cave in 2017 which affects some of the routes in the cave and further rockfalls are likley!
Rockfax Description
An amazing right-to-left diagonal lip trip over the arch. Often empty compared to the much popular Wen Zawn.
1) 5a, 45m. Drop down as for Britomartis and try not to place any gear until level with the belay. Traverse above the lip leftwards all the way to the belay of Spider's Web.
2) 5c, 35m. Move up to the roof above the belay and turn this on the right. Follow the crack and groove above to the belay. © Rockfax
UKC Logbook Description
The Gogarth North topo for P2 is wrong and the description is confusing. The line in the topo is at least two grades harder! See entry for The Bloodbottle. Based on discussions with people who’ve done The Bluebottle, you’re supposed to move slightly up from the belay and take the pleasant looking crack/groove going up and right. Apparently that’s the line shown in the old guide book. Don’t go up to the roof several metres above!

βeta: Not done this route yet but P2 looks like it takes the obvious jamming crack as shown in better in the alternative topo p201 of the Gogarth North rather than the main topo on p197 where the line looks a little bit too far left (similar in RF)? This would tally up with the description. Does seem strange nothing takes the corner flake in its entirely to the right to join Spider Wall as this is the most obvious feature though the rock looks suspect compared to the crack. | βeta?

βeta: It seems that the obvious corner line to the right of the old pegs marking the Spider's Web belay is the correct line. | βeta?

βeta: Agree with the above that the topo and description are confusing for this. In fact the two topos (p197 and p201) show the belay in different places. 201 shows the better and more logical stance, in the main corner - not the little plinth out left. From here, follow the obvious flake line up right, and its continuation directly to the top. It seems extremely unlikely that Bluebottle, as the first route to reach that point on the cliff, didn't take this most obvious and good line. | βeta?
