Seals breed in Parliament House cave during the autumn months and climbers should take particular care not to disturb them during the time from late August to late October when the young seal pups can be eailsiy sepreated from their mothers with devastating consequences.
A large (huge!) rockfall occured at the back of Parliement House Cave in 2017 which affects some of the routes in the cave and further rockfalls are likley!
Rockfax Description
This perfect chimney will delight some but will terrify those unused to vertical thrutching. Start from the base of Strike.
1) 12m. Scramble up and right to the base of the fissure. You can link straight into the next pitch but your belayer won't be able to watch you suffer.
2) 4c, 32m. Climb the flake mainly utilising the left side until you are forced inside. Make every chimney climbing move you know to wriggle up the tight cleft, emerging every now and again to ledges off the left edge of the cleft. Eventually you reach the top of the massive flake where it is best to abseil off.
3) 4c, 13m. If you wish to continue, the wide corner-cracks above and to the left are the upwards escape from here. © Rockfax

βeta: Big blue or gold cam handy, as 3/4 up chimney- there is a crack deep in left side of chimney. Else there is nothing in-between leaving the flake to when you move onto left face. | ||
