Crag features

Halkyn Mountain...not a mountain, just a hill...lots of interesting mine shafts and ancient mine workings dotted around all over it! See the Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust (http://www.cpat.org.uk) for plenty of historical & geological information about the area.

The bouldering lies just off the Halkyn-Rhes Y Cae road, in a series of sheltered dips. Some of the obvious problems have almost certainly been done before, We are happy to update first ascent details if needed, but thought it was worth recording them all. Mostly of local interest and quite short, although a couple are quite good! Worth an hour or so in a nice location with perfect grassy landings.  Good for families/children. Some problems could be done without a pad.

Approach notes

Plenty of places to pull over around the playground in Rhes Y Cae, or off the road between Rhes Y Cae and Halkyn.
