Crag features

A handful of esoteric sandstone quarrys, documented in the Roots Quarry Life bouldering guide, Britstol Esoteric Guide (*see below) Also a free Bouldering Topo for Lydbrook Quarrys.

Really not worth travelling far for. Better to visit Drybrook, 3 Rocks, Ellwood or Huntsham for a good circuit if visiting. For locals, Lydbrook offers a few low grade gems.

*Coverage of this area (5 quarries in total) in the Esoteric Bouldering in the Bristol region book, page 320 Barnedge Hill.

Approach notes

Park in the large layby (currently used by the Forestry commision). Walk up the track and turn left, quarrys are on the right.

Lydbrook roadside is directly opposite the parking on the other side of the road.

Full, accurate coverage of this area (5 quarries in total) in the Esoteric Bouldering in the Bristol region book, page 320 Barnedge Hill. 24 problems on lovely quarried sandstone from f3+ to f7A+. Get the sun in winter.
