From the top of the Tanigawa-joch cable car, head north-west initially through trees and then onto an open ridgeline, turning to NNE after approx. 1.5km where the trail starts to climb steeply. Trail is low-technicality and never particularly exposed, but snow can be very deep and the route is steep for the second half. Despite access from the cable car, this is a full winter route.
Descent is by retracing your steps and taking the cable car back down, or via Nishukuro Ridge (west side), but this is harder, more exposed and takes you all the way back down to the cable car base station.
