Rockfax Description
A great route which has a fierce pull on the crux. Thankfully, this is well protected with modern gear and small wires. Either start from directly below the slab, or from a ledge on its left side. Climb to a crack-line just in from the main corner. A tricky move over the first bulge is okay; the move above the second ledge is considerably harder. The rest of the climbing is easier, and eventually leads into a small groove that exits right. © Rockfax

βeta: Rockfax states exit to the right but this causes a lot of rope drag. Step up above and top belay from there.

βeta: The older guidebooks list this climb as 'sea shanty', with Truant being entirely in the crack to the right. Rockfax appears to have confused matters by combining the lower section of Sea Shanty with the upper section of Truant - creating a hybrid route. Whatever the name, it's a great climb.

βeta: Herring Gull nesting on ledge by corner, route proper should have had you gone left by then to take on next two overlaps

βeta: 14 Jun 21 - Seagull nesting in the break next to the right edge, best avoided or keep as far left as possible.

βeta: Generally quite easy - apart from the crux move which feels about 5a.
