On the Muntrav peninsula, better known as Zlatni Rt, inside the forest park, there are a few rocks. One part of the area was once a quarry - providing stone for Venetian palaces. The rock is located at the very end of the peninsula. With a view of the whole town of Rovinj, the climbing here is very special.
Park near basketball courts and walk along tree lines path following north-facing beaches.
Approach time: 10 mins
The dusty, graffitti'd pavements and poor climbing on marble textured holds make this crag remarkably similar to Morlais Quarry in Wales. Only not quite as good.

This crag is not as bad as it looks. If you ignore the graffiti there are some decent routes to be found here with quite nice technical climbs. The grades are a little "all over the place" when comparing the guide books and the UKC Logbook but I guess they even themselves out in the end as usual. Giles Davis - 23/Oct/16 |
