Rockfax Description
(South Gully) This is the easiest route up or down the peak. Climb to the west end of Eiterådalen, the valley immediately south of Rulten, but don't be tempted directly up the south ridge, because it ends in a vertical-walled chasm. Instead, climb to the col at the head of Eiterådalen, then diagonally up and right on grassy ledges, aiming for the gully in the upper part of Vestre Rulten's south face, close to the upper south ridge. About 125m below the summit, the final section becomes relatively easy. In mid-summer, there is plenty of loose rock. This is best done early in the season, when you can climb it mostly on snow. © Rockfax
