The highball and impressive blank slab had been tried by many able people and had not seen an ascent until earlier this year (2005) when John Gaskins pulled on some atoms to reach the top of South Lancashire's hardest problem and perhaps the hardest slab in the world. Start the slab left of
centre and trend right to an undercut, then higher again to an obvious good
hold. Step left from the good hold to gain and finish up African Queen and
avoid the grass cornice.
