Climbs 8
Rocktype UNKNOWN
Altitude 313m a.s.l
A small block of good solid rock that basks in the late afternoon/evening sun when it cares to shine. The land around here can be boggy after prolonged rain but quickly dries out in the summer.
Park in the layby on the left as you turn down the gwynant valley from the pen y gyrd hotel. This is the same parking as for the pen y gyrd boulder and the two venues provide a good circuit. Climb over the stile and head straight up to the small cluster of boulders left of the pen y gyrd boulder. The Irvine boulder is the closer of the two largest boulders on the right.
£2,00 parking fee before 1800hrs.
