Rockfax Description
An amazing route that is worth seeking out as part of a link-up. It starts way up the West Face which is most easily reached by following The North Ridge of Tryfan to just below the North Tower and then scrambling down and right until below the arete. Then scramble up and right either direct (hard), or traverse right into the gully and then cut left to the large platform where the true arete starts. Use this right-hand approach for V Arete and Y Gully.
1) From the left-hand end of the platform, climb up to the left of the chimney to gain a ledge and blocks.
2) Go straight up to the arete above. Follow this direct in about four pitches. Some of the finest scrambling in Snowdonia.
