Access round-up

Some relevant access news to Peak District climbers concerns Stanage and the bouldering between Apparent North and the Cowper Stone.

On 3 January, the 'Stanage Forum' assembled at the site to try and resolve the conflict between ornithologists trying to restrict climbing in this area (becuase of the presence of Ring Ouzels) and the climbers.

Ways in which climbers can limit disturbing the birds is by accessing the areas of Apparent North and the Cowper Stone from Burbage North, Cabin Track and Hooks Carr. Avoid using the lower path from Hook's Carr which leads broadly across to Congo Corner. Access the edge from above and try and avoid the breeding and feeding areas below the edge.
