Alan Hinkes successfully summitted Annapurna I, the 10th highest mountain in the world, at 11.30 AM on 06 May. He spent about an hour at the summit before returning to Camp III, celebrating with the Indian Army Summiteers who reached the top just before him. Alan now has Kanchenjunga (3rd highest at 8,586m) and Dhaulagiri (7th highest at 8,161m) to go to become the 1st Briton to climb all 14 8000ers.
