Instructor killed in accident at Port o'Warren Cliffs

James Martin, 29, from Dumfries, fell about 20m on sea cliffs at Port o' Warren on the Solway Firth, near Dalbeattie, on Sunday. The fall appears to have been caused when a section of rock at the top collapsed under him and he fell the full height of the cliff. His companion, Craig Henderson, 27, a member of Moffat hill rescue team, tried to save him, but he was dead when the emergency services arrived.
