The BMC and a bunch of local Pembroke climbers has organised a partial clean-up of Huntsmans Leap in Pembroke. Earlier this year a stray container, which had fallen off a ship, forced its way into the Leap in a storm. It was then battered to bits and left a huge pile of rusting metal container walls, washing machines and packing foam. Now the BMC-organised team has removed much of the smaller detritus from the pile but the bigger pieces of twisted metal will need heavy lifting gear. The BMC site reports that the Local Council, the MoD, and the National Park Authority are all trying to come to an arrangement to organise a proper clean up but progress is painfully slow.
