Josune

Josune Bereziartu, the Basque wonderwoman, keeps on going from strength to strength. She's climbed three sport routes graded 9a, and seventeen at 8c and 8c+, has a liking for long and hard multi-pitch routes, and can burn most off when un-roped on the small rocks. Now she is adding hard onsighting (first attempt, no information about the moves) to her quiver of highly-tuned rock skills. Climbing at the crags around Rodellar in Northern Spain she onsighted twelve routes graded 8a or harder, the prize being an 8b, Fuente de Energia, at Vadiello. This is Josune's second 8b onsight, the first was of Steroid Performance, at Horai, Japan on the same trip that she repeated Logical Progression 9a. Want to be inspired? You can check out all things Josune at her website. Click around once there as there's some impressive slideshows of some of the stunning routes that Josune and her partner Rikar Otegi have climbed.
