Climber Killed in Fall from Dow Crag

A 19 year old man, thought to be from Wakefield in West Yorkshire, has died in a fall from Dow Crag (left) above Coniston in the Lakes. He was climbing with his brother when he fell a long distance down the crag although the exact circumstances of the accident are not know. An RAF rescue team was then alerted by a female walker, who saw the accident, and they helped winch the man's brother to safety. He was later said to be suffering from shock.

That's sad. My thoughts are with his family and friends, particularly his brother who witnessed it.
