Thanks to a live webcast you can watch all the action from the IFSC* European Bouldering Championships 2007 which kicks off today in Birmingham. Some of the best boulderer's in the world are taking part in the championships being hosted by the BMC as part of Climb 2007 at the Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show at the NEC in Birmingham (16 - 18 March).

In the men's event, reigning British champion Andy Earl will be just one of the home-grown boulderers taking on the likes of Russia's Salavat Rakhmetov, the current World champion, as well as World Cup champion Jerome Meyer and reigning European champion Daniel Dulac from France. Those who think bouldering at the highest level is a specialist activity may be surprised to learn that Daniel is an international mountain guide.

The women's event may also see a battle for top slot between Russia and France. Reigning European and World Cup champion Olga Bibik, from Russia, will be challenged by France's Sandrine Levet, five-times World Cup champion.

Doesn't want to work for me. I registered and watched it all last year, have real player but when I click on the WATCH NOW link real player tells me the url isn't valid. i really should go and do something useful instead, maybe it's the computer karma telling me to get on with other stuff!

Hi Katie, sorry you had problems :o( We hope to have replays available soon (pending approval). We were fully booked for most of the weekend and increased the limits twice to get as many people to watch as possible. As a climber myself, and an active BMC volunteer, it was great to see such enthusiasm from the climbing community :o) I also heard on the grapevine that some climbing walls showed the footage, which was nice to hear. Give me a shout if you (or anybody else that watched/tried to) has any feedback. Regards, Russ. (247.TV developer / on site producer)
