Fresh from winning the Bouldering League at Manchester Climbing Centre (see the results here) twenty-two year old Stewart Watson, from Manchester, got the 4th ascent of Ben Moon's Voyager Font 8b at Burbage North on Saturday according to reports at ukbouldering.com. The other ascensionists are Paul Bennet and Tyler Landman.

Stewart has been climbing since he was 4 years old and over the years has logged an impressive array of hard ascents including his first sport 8a when he was 15 years old and has climbed sport 8c, and many hard boulder problems of Font 8a and above, including two previous Font 8b's at Magic Wood, Switzerland.

You can see a video of Voyager, with the sit down start (Font 8b+) at Ben Moon's website - click here.

I used to knock around with Stewart on the bouldering wall at Leeds Wall. He was an absolute monster. I used to make up problems for him on the wall and he always did them. One day I got sick of it and decided to make up a really stupid one that he definitely would not be able to do, just to see him fail. I didn't think he'd even try it. And of course, what happened? He did it first time, the swine! I just laughed but was also slightly amazed. I always knew he had loads of potential and I've just been waiting for him to appear in the climbing press. I think he'll be at the forefront of grades if he keeps at it.
