Alpinist Warehouse Destroyed in Blaze

© Marko Prezelj/Alpinist
Alpinist Magazine housed all of its stock in the Kable News Company's Distribution Centre, Oregon, USA. On the 5th of December the whole building was engulfed in flames. A fork lift truck damaged a gas meter - sending gas in to a heater, starting a fire.

Over 200 fire-fighters were needed to battle with the blaze, which spread quickly through the wooden building. All of the Alpinist stock was destroyed, including 2008 calendars, magazine back issues and other Alpinist merchandise.

We wish everyone at Alpinist the best of luck in recovering from this event.

Realy hope they recover from this and keep on puttin out magazine after magazine. Its the only mag i bother to buy these days, pure quality in terms of production, standard of writing and photography. Feels more like reading a book than browsing through a throw away monthly covering the same old best vs's in t' peak.
