Nicola Wilding won the DMM My First Outdoor Lead essay competition, but although the photo shows her at the Llanberis Mountain Film Festival with a rack of DMM gear after she had read out Confessions of a Coward (which will be available for viewing at UKClimbing.com soon) she has yet to make her final gear selection from the array of DMM gear available (DMM - website).

DMM are also sorting out the prizes for Jo Horne (Petticoats and Promises) and Rob Carlin (M1, Avon Gorge - 1986).

CLAIM YOUR SPOT PRIZE

For the other 118 entries, to claim your spot prize you must email your name, address (including post code) and a link to your essay to Sophie at DMM (sophie@dmmwales.com). Please be patient as that is a lot of administration and mailing out.

All the essays are on this page, LINK

TWO NEW COMPETITIONS

In April we are running two new competitions with absolutely fabulous and substantial prizes.

Again these competitions are not answer three questions and hit submit, you actually have to use your creativity.

One is a Prana photographic competition with prizes from Beyond Hope the UK distributors of Prana, the other a design competition held in conjunction with Lyon Equipment, the UK distributors of La Sportiva, Petzl and Beal (amongst others brands).

Details soon.

There will be another writing competition later in 2008.
