Recommended books

John Watson from Stone country sent me a couple of books to review on 8a.nu: Stone play and Essential Fontainebleau. I haven't really had time to write the actual reviews yet, but what I can say is this:
Stone play, which is a collection of short essays and beautiful photos from people such as John Gill, Pat Ament, Klem Loskot, Bernd Zangerl, Dave MacLeod, Jacky Godoffe etc. is highly inspirational and sometimes thought provoking. I guess you could say it tries to investigate what bouldering really is and why we do it. Great stuff!

Essential Fontainebleau is exactly what it sounds like. An introduction to the most classic boulder problems of every grade in the vast Fontainebleau area. The perfect companion for the non-local. Complete with maps, descriptions and photos of the problems.
