In April 2010 Plas y Brenin are set to host the first ever Alpine Festival. This great weekend event is a unique opportunity for UKC users to learn from some of the Country's leading Alpinists and Mountain Guides and to mix with like-minded people and celebrate Alpine achievements and aspirations.

The event will take place on the weekend of 24 and 25 April at Plas y Brenin in North Wales and will consist of a diverse series of Skills Workshops, Demonstrations and Lectures spanning all range of Alpine topics; from Ropework to Photography; from Planning to Rescue; from Trekking to Traversing. It is sure to be popular but places are limited so make sure you book early.

There are still a few places left but they are going fast so get your booking in as soon as possible!

Everyone who goes on the weekend will get a Goody Bag packed with great gifts from the event sponsors - the bag itself is a Beal Folio Rope Bag kindly donated by Lyon Equipment.

UKClimbing is proud to be associated with this event and we'd like to thank Plas y Brenin and all the event sponsors

A rope bag gift for an Alpine Festival?! Is it for polybagging?!)
No, it is for holding all the other free gifts! Alan

There are 18 workshops listed, if some are running concurrently it would be useful to see a timetable so that we can plan which to go to and which to leave out (save having to make hurried decisions on arrival) even if they can't be booked until arrival...
There are still a few places left on this fantastic weekend and the free goody bag is filling up just as quickly! Read more here
There doesn't appear to be a fixed agenda at this point but I have checked up and most of the courses will be repeated more than once allowing people to choose their own programs. Alan
