Warm and humid at Margalef yesterday, but this didn't stop Ramon Julian Puigblanque from making the 2nd ascent of another 9a. Samfaina, put up by Chris Sharma a couple of weeks ago, in the Raco de la finestra sector (yes, that's the sector for which I declared the season officially over a month or so back...), was an old Andoni Perez project for which he needed a handful of tries. He was close to making it a one day ascent, but as his skin was rapidly deteriorating, he decided to leave it for the following day. This turned out to be a wise decision as he came back and did it on his first try the day after.

How many 9a's exist in the world. Are we talking 50, 100. more?

I'd say somewhere around 200.
