Kendal Mountain Festival and the NEW Kendal Wall

Kendal Mountain Festival starts tonight with the The World Premiere of The Prophet - a film by Alastair Lee starring Leo Houlding and Jason Pickles climbing their new free route up the east face of Yosemite's El Cap.

The venue is the Town Hall and the time is 7:30pm, both Leo and Al will be there to introduce the film and do a short Question and Answer session after the film. The film is 35 mins long and is taken from the new Psyche II dvd.

Other top picks over the festival weekend include Eneko and Iker Pou, Hervé Barmasse, Peter Habeler, Stephan Siegrist, Mike 'Twid' Turner, Dave MacLeod, Tim Macartney-Snape and Timmy O'Neill.

Friday night sees the The Slackers Guide To Climbing starring Rab Carrington and Steve McClure and hosted by John Horscroft. Everybody attending The Slackers Guide To Climbing will receive a FREE MARMOT GOODIE BAG!

Make sure you get your ticket early for the RAB party on Saturday night.

The NEW Kendal Wall

If you are in the area, why not check out the new Kendal Wall. They are part way through a £400,000 redevelopment - finished next year - which includes new lead walls, an extension of existing walls - yes the big wall will get a little taller, a new reception area, meeting rooms, beginner areas, a via ferrata, loads of bouldering and a training room. Three of the NEW bouldering/training areas are now open as well as the usual lead walls.
