Hamish Potokar, 14, has climbed the classic hard gritstone problem Brad Pit (Font 7C+) at Stanage, in the Peak District. Hamish worked the line for around twenty minutes before his successful ascent.

You can see Hamish on the problem in the photo on the right and also in the excellent short video below.

Rich Smith, one of Hamish's teachers at Bristol Grammar School, commented:

"Hamish has been climbing since he could walk pretty much as his dad is a climber. However since he joined the school I teach at he has been getting more into his bouldering and is part of The Climbing Academy (TCA) squad in Bristol. He came 4th in the recent British Bouldering Championships despite being a couple of years younger than most of the competitors.

Hamish also climbed Carnage Assis at Bas Cuvier and Bus Stop in Llanberis in 2010, both of these are Font 7C I think. He has started to get on some routes now as well and managed a very quick ascent of Dave Pickford's bouldery 7c+8a 'Liquid Crystal' in Cheddar at the end of last year's Cheddar season."
