Can it be that an E4 on a well known grit crag can lay unrepeated for 30 years?

According to the BMC guidebook to The Roaches, the E4 arete of Strain Station (first climbed by Gary Gibson in 1981) may be unrepeated. The route also has no ticks in the UKC logbooks.
