Andy Parkin's Studio Fire - Community Appeal Launched

Chamonix-based British alpinist and artist Andy Parkin lost his Les Praz workshop and belongings to a fire this past weekend, which broke out during the night, completely destroying three arts and crafts studios.

In response to the disaster, the Chamonix and international climbing community have launched and shared an online appeal to raise funds in support of the three artists who lived and worked in the 'Moulin des Artistes' -  Peter Steltzner, Anati Graetz and Andy Parkin. At the time of posting, over 16,000 Euros had been raised.

Andy's most well-known work within the UK climbing community is likely his unique trophies, which he creates annually for Kendal Mountain Festival's International Film Competition, as well as numerous illustrations in climbing literature.
