Fri Night Vid Mari Salvesen on the Profile Wall, Norway
This week's Friday Night Video takes us to the Profile Wall in Jøssingfjord on the south coast of Norway, where Mari Salvesen is attempting to complete Premiere Moments (7c).
Our Friday Night Video this week features Dani Arnold deep in the Plaine-Morte glacier in Switzerland, attempting to climb his way back to the surface. Arnold navigates his way through the glacier's hidden labyrinths, in what turns out to be a mixture of ice climbing and caving. During his climb upwards, Arnold reflects on the rapid retreat of glaciers year by year. Glaciologists estimate that the Plaine-Morte will be completely gone by 2090.

Agree - unusual and thought-provoking. I'm glad he admitted it was really scary 'cos, up until then, I was wondering if we were on different planets. Happily not so!
And the sense of sadness, of what we're losing through our own stupidity.
