8c+ Multi-pitch by Fabian Buhl Fri Night Vid

© Petzl

This week's Friday Night Video takes us to Ratikon in Switzerland. Fabian Buhl attempts the route Déjà, which was bolted in 1992 by Michi Wyser and Andres Lietha. The pair spent two years bolting the line and after attempting the route realised that they couldn't climb the crux pitch, so left it as an A0 aid climb. Buhl spent a couple of seasons working the 400m line and climbed the first free ascent in November 2019.

We need your help.

UKClimbing is a vibrant web site with rich content and an amazing community. So far, all we've asked of you is that you visit and interact with the site but we are in uncertain times. We need to look at ways to keep the site moving forward whilst maintaining our key aim of allowing free access to everyone to our main content. The site will continue to be mainly funded by a subtle level of outdoor-only advertising but we now need extra support to ensure we can continue to provide the UKC that we all know and love.

You can help us by becoming a UKC Supporter. This can be in a small way or in a larger package that includes discounted products from our sister-publishing company Rockfax.

I think the pin on the database map is in the wrong place...

Rätikon is right on the border. The Kirchlispitzen belong to Switzerland.

Great looking line . Would be more impressed if they clipped their own quick draws

Whose draws do you think they are?
