Operation MoffatFri Night Vid

© BMC TV

This week's Friday Night Video, Operation Moffat, takes inspiration and wit from the colourful climbing life of Britain's first female mountain guide, Gwen Moffat.

Grappling with her preference for mountains over people, adventure over security, wilderness over ticklists, writer Claire Carter and filmmaker Jen Randall climb, run, scramble and swim their way through Gwen's most cherished British landscapes.

Including candid interviews with 91-year old Gwen, a fresh take on landscape photography, previously unseen archive material and unashamedly real action sequences, this film will capture Gwen's infectious excitement for a life constantly seeking something strange of beautiful around the next bend.

What a great little video. It even got me crying at the end listening to Gwen talk about life without the mountains. She has a beautiful way with words. And good effort to claire on the left unconquerable! I thought she was definitely coming off, but fought through it.

Thank you. Still think is a great little film about a great mountaineer who deserves better recognition.

Thanks. Really enjoyed that. Space Below my Feet was an inspiring book for me when I started climbing.
