Xa is 29 years old and currently lives in Sheffield. He recently finished a PhD in English Literature, during which he discovered climbing in 2019.

"I'm still better at writing and editing than I am at climbing, but I'm hoping to close that gap!" he says.

Xa led his first trad route in January this year. He is currently climbing HVS and hopes to lead his first E1 before the end of the year.

His main responsibilities will be increasing our news and articles output on UKC, as well as getting involved with weekly video presenting.

Xa joins an editorial team consisting of Natalie Berry as Chief Editor, Nick Brown as digital media editor and Dan Bailey as UKHillwalking and Gear editor.
