The last round of the IFSC World Cup series 2014 took place in the Slovenian town of Kranj on 15th and 16th November, where Adam Ondra and Mina Markovic took Gold in this final competition of the 2014 calendar.
In front of a home crowd, Slovenia's Mina Markovic climbed four moves higher than Lead World Champion Jain Kim of Korea to take the victory. Bouldering World Cup winner Akiyo Noguchi took Bronze, finishing-off a year of impressive all-round competition performance. Jain Kim took the overall title for 2014 after consistent top performances, winning the 'double' by taking both World Cup and World Championship titles after her victory in Gijon, Spain this year. Mina Markovic took Silver and Austria's Magdalena Röck won Bronze.
In the men's event, Czech Republic's Adam Ondra finished top of the podium ahead of Canada's Sean McColl and Japan's Sachi Amma, continuing his form after winning the Lead World Championships in Gijon in September. For the overall World Cup title, however, Jakob Schubert had already secured a win after his performances in the last three World Cup rounds held in Japan, Korea and China. Completing the overall podium for 2014 were Sean McColl and Adam Ondra.
The GB Climbing Team came back with some impressive results, notably 17 year-old Molly Thompson-Smith who finished in 20th place after reaching the semi-final round, making her second-ever senior semi-final in a World Cup.
