German climber Alexander Megos has made the first ascent of what was known as "The red Project" at Diamond Falls in the Blue Mountains, Australia. The name of the new route is Retired Extremely Dangerous and the grade ~9a.
Australia resident British climber and photographer, Nick Fletcher reported that Alex quickly did all the moves, but then needed a total of three days to make the first ascent of this "...stunning and unrelenting line of small holds up the wall to the left of Hairline."
Next month Alex will be visiting Stockholm, so stay tuned for an interview, and 30 November he will be competing in the La Sportiva Legends Only.
Alexander Megos is sponsored by: Tenaya, Patagonia and DMM
