Bouldering is the simple, accessible entry into this pastime. Start in your local centre with a friendly team providing all the advice, mentoring and equipment. From here, join our community and watch the adventure unfold.

The Role

First established in Cardiff in 2008, Boulders opened a brand-new bouldering centre in Cheltenham in August 2020. We are looking for a passionate, committed climber to join our team in Cheltenham as a Coach. This could be a full or part-time position depending on requirements of the candidate.

The role will involve:

  • Working alongside our Centre Manager and other coaches to deliver a full suite of coaching programmes for all ages and abilities.
  • Delivering our NIBAS programme
  • Engaging with, and helping to grow, our community of climbers.
  • Delivering 'one on one' coaching as demand requires.
  • Helping out in the front of house and café when required.

The right candidate will:

  • Be a climber that strives to share their passion for climbing.
  • Be committed to providing the best experience for our climbers.
  • Have some coaching experience, ideally across a variety of ages and abilities.
  • Have a good knowledge of Health and Safety issues relating to a busy climbing centre.
  • Have the ability to work within a team of instructors.
  • Have a high level of self motivation, being able to use their own initiative to achieve goals.
  • Be approachable, friendly, and a good communicator.

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 depending on candidate (pro rata)

Holiday: 28 days per annum (pro rata)

CPD: In-house training and contribution to NGB awards provided
