Outdoor Activity Managers, 270 Climbing Gloucester Jobs

We’re on the lookout for motivated, enthusiastic and professional individuals to take on the role of ACTIVITY MANAGERS to help deliver a jam-packed summer season of engaging and enjoyable outdoor mobile climbing and caving activities.

We are seeking bubbly, confident people who are happy to manage bookings and work as part of a team. Experience of working with groups and children is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Hours will vary dependent on event locations and work may involve some early starts and/or late finishes due to travel. You will be expected to stay away from home from time to time with long distance and/or back-to-back bookings. Due to the nature of the role, weekend work is essential. You must live within reasonable commuting distance of Gloucester or be willing to relocate

Roles are initially offered on temporary summer contracts from May to October. Successful applicants may be offered continued work later in the year should they be interested.


ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Activity Manager you will consistently provide high quality experiences by owning the customer journey from the minute you arrive onsite. Working closely with a great team to manage a variety of activities whilst coaching others to achieve the same results. Whether it be a school group, pay-as-you-go event, or individual client, as part of the delivery team, you will play a vital role in providing safe, friendly and fun tuition for our wide customer base.

The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Mobile Business team, to manage activities both outdoors and indoors at various sites around the UK. Our mobile walls and activities go to schools, clubs, exhibitions, trade shows, corporate events, team building events, private parties, village fairs and festivals UK wide.

Working alongside our Activity Leaders you will be responsible for delivering memorable outdoor activity sessions for both adults and children alike. Our staff are at the centre of everything we do and as a member of the team you will play a crucial part in ensuring our customers have a fantastic experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Taking ownership of a booking from arrival to departure
  • Managing the smooth running of the onsite operation
  • Striving to deliver above and beyond client expectation
  • Working with children, teenagers, adults with a range of abilities
  • Overseeing activity set-up and take-down
  • Maintaining activity related equipment
  • Driving and towing equipment and large trailers to and from bookings
  • Travel planning and time keeping
  • Communicating and coordinating booking plan with relevant team members 
  • General maintenance of vehicles and trailers
  • Inspiring and coaching Activity Leaders to develop themselves throughout the summer
  • Ensuring compliance with company H&S policies and procedures


REQUIREMENTS / ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 21 years or over, with a right to work in the UK
  • 3 years minimum driving experience (or HGV licence)
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Good communication skills
  • An energetic, professional attitude and a flexible approach to working
  • Previous experience of working with children (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience of leading outdoor activities advantageous
  • Understanding the importance of Health and Safety pertaining to outdoor activities
  • Available to attend inhouse training days
  • DBS will be required (this will be conducted and paid for by ourselves)
  • Experience of driving large vehicles and towing is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
