As the Gore-tex Experience Tour enters its second year, two enthusiastic climbers are being offered the chance to embark on a trip of a lifetime with the renowned Scottish climber, Dave MacLeod. This project is the latest in a string of adventures that have enabled outdoors enthusiast from across Europe to share unforgettable experiences with some of the world's most famous outdoors experts.

The successful candidates who win places on the Gore-tex Experience Tour's New Routes in the Arctic project will search for unchartered climbing routes around the islands and fjords around Tromso. As well as testing their mental and physical abilities against some of the least explored climbing areas in Europe, the team will also put products using the new Gore-tex Active Shell laminate through its paces. It is the perfect companion for whatever the Norwegian weather throws at the team!

The Challenge

As part of the team the two winners will attempt to find new routes that will challenge each person's abilities. The cliffs and walls of this area of Norway have rarely been explored, so the potential to find new routes on perfect rock is huge! Filmmaker Paul Diffley will be accompanying the team and will capture and report their progress along every step of the way.

This is an incredible opportunity for any climbing enthusiast to explore one of the most remote climbing locations in the world.

This beautiful part of Norway boasts a wide range of climbing that is largely undiscovered.

Sounds great, looking forward to seeing the results. But is "sponsee" a word?

Is Annubis really VII?

Sounds great.....but what about those who consider it possible to have a life outwith Facebook? Maybe we're mistaken. Also, there's no link to the "online application" mentioned.

Sounds good but some of the hyperbole is a bit strained. Not sure I would call Tromso 'one of the most remote climbing locations in the world', you can fly from the UK and be craging the same day - or even drive there in about three days! Chris

And for those who have succumbed, Goretex want a completely unreasonable amount of access to your Facebook information. However, I'm guessing they are after bright young telegenic things for whom sharing inside leg measurements with the world seems less of an issue.
