looks like a good route. weird clouds
The Pylon King - 15/Nov/08
It was a great route, 2nd pitch up the long crack was the highlight. Led with nut key to clean gear which shows how often it's climbed. Aye the cloud was really strange, looked like grey whipped cream!

Pete, it looks like a severe due to a lot of tilt! Maybe you can rotate and re-upload it to show the real steepness of the route. The large groove in the background is vertical I think.

Hwackerage, The large groove slants up left as shown both in this picture and in one of your pictures titled Mighty Shelterstone. If i tilt this pic so the top of hells lum is horizontal then the foreground slabs will be artificially steep. There is no 'real steepness' to this pitch it's just slabby 5b made to look like severe due the perspective.

Sorry Pete, for getting it wrong. It is a good picture of a climb that looks very good.

I sat for ages trying to work out if it was tilted or not as the cloud and Hells lum trick the eye, so i can understand where you are coming from. Have a good winter!!
