Why is it gated?

I'm not sure, as i put in the brief report, this crag is very close to the hill fort at Uley, i would imagine that as it looks like a man made opening, it was part of a cave system for the old quarry workings, likely is it was put there to stop kids going down. Or, more imaginative, it's a 'Secret Tunnel'. I might check out the caving sites.

The area is an SSSI. The gates are there to protect Bats it seems.
