How can this be a first ascent if it was 'Soloed regularly by local climbers as far back as the mid 1970's'?

If so blake that's great. Just getting it out there so people can find and enjoy all there is to offer. Some people won't climb something if it's not in a guidebook or graded. I'm not worried about claiming it or who did it first. It was un-recorded so I thought it was best in the public's eye. Sorry if that offended you.

Either way, E1 5B? Wtf, it's simple and you can lace it with gear, Severe I give it, others I know who've done it over the years give it no more than HS.

Blake you are obviously a fantastic climber and find routes easy. Personally I would rather give a realistic/safe grade to avoid sandbagging or hurting someone. I would recommend someone of your climbing ability focus on something harder than this and not trouble yourself with the grade, after all a grade is subjective. BTW I would quite happily solo up to vs, but would not have been happy soloing this, hence I suggested this grade to reflect that. Again, sorry if the grade offends you.

I'm not personally offended, but this particular crag has a lot of historic significance with our club who have been based here for 60 years, it's neither a new route, nor is it anywhere near E15B... if you think this short 'route' is the same grade as The Plumb, or Barbarian, then I would have a think about trad grades and what they actually mean...
As for retorting by posting a bitchy comment on a photo I posted of a good friend of mine, I think you need to grow a pair.
Peace
