Apparently it looks like a grade IV, hope this shot from a different angle shows it a bit tougher than that!

Yes, it's steep, but not for too long. Grade IV cruxes are often like this. Any more sustained, and it's probably V

Am getting fed up with this! The photo is very fore-shortened - I have done a lot of ice routes of grade IV, V and VI and WI routes up to WI6 and this is very steep and about 20m long, mostly vertical, hence grade VI. Pulling out of the cave is overhanging. You can't tell this from the picture!!! Whatever the grade it is a great pitch of ice....

Nice set of pictures, looks like an amazing route, definitely only grade III though, maybe tech 4 at a push.

Tech 4?! Now your being generous. Climber looks like he's doing pressups. Has he tilted the camera to make it look steeper?
