Enjoy living the good life and seeing the world, currently teaching in edinburgh again after three years in New Zealand and having travelled the world lots in my 20s ticking lots of classics on the road, and occasionally teaching in order to eat! Spent a lot of time on holiday it seems! Now happily married to the lovely Emily who shares my love of the outdoors and we have four kids Ethan, Sara ,Iona and baby Zach - all under ten which keeps us busy! I'm looking forward to taking them climbing when they get a bit older. The older three love bouldering already especially Castle Hill in NZ. More into bouldering and surfing myself these days to be honest...

Best Climbing Experience
Too many to pick one! Loved living in New Zealand and doing some awesome alpine peaks such as the memorable and stunningly beautiful Mount Aspiring. Favourite Euro alpine route probably Salbitschen west ridge, Comici route and Walker Spur and favourite winter routes probably Messiah, Silver Tear/Cooler and Minus 1 Gully.

Long rock routes wise - the Grand Wall route in Squamish, the Vestpillaren in Lofoten and the Inshallah Factor in Wadi Rum definitely live up to the hype. (But which is better? Tough Call!)

South Africa was pretty amazing too - climbing in the Cederburg, Waterfall Boven, on Table mountain and the perfect bouldering at Rocklands....oh and my favourite long UK weekend was Fay, Diamond Smiles, Dreadnought and Heart of the Sun in the sunshine......honorable mention to the two times I've done Bloody Sunday in Hunstmans leap - 40m of perfection both times!

Finally a summer trip to the Alps in 2010 where I thought the Comici Route, the Walker Spur and Kundalini/Luna Nascente in the Val di Mello were all pretty amazing..and I got engaged too! :-)

Top pitch of Silver Tear, a perfect finish, quite steep and hard for grade and a bit hollow sounding!
