In reply to Andy Donson above, I believe egg didn't take photos of the cam slots because Shane Ohly had already done this and those pictures were in UKC's news article.

Baffling isn't it... I know they've got a reputation, but to me personally, if someone of Mark's calibre modified a route, he wouldn't need to do something as obvious and clumsy as that. This reminds me of the butchered ancient gritstone holds at the Roaches and Black Rocks. It would take a lot of work to hammer granite to a 'hold' that big.
Unfortunately, it's a bit damning that until this time he still hasn't commented on it.
