What a peculiar place to belay, a metre from the top (which I see is hidden behind the foliage). Was it done for photographic effect?

Yes very peculiar....and no it wasn't done for photographic effect..you can put it down to a misunderstanding of the term saddle belay. Made me laugh anyway and give me the shortest lead i've ever done..

I dont know what you are talking about lads i had a great day climbing the odd pitch might of been slightly longer than normal but hey thats climbing :)
