I'd love to know what kind of owl this is. So sweet.

He looks very young... could he fly with all that fluff and few feathers?

I share Jon's concern. This chick should still be in the nest. Something went wrong?

OK, I've been concerned about this since reading the comments. I began thinking I should have done something or contacted someone.
However, I have it on good advice that young 'Tawny Owls'(since that is what it is) often take leaps of faith off branches, landing and sometimes rolling, on the ground quite harmlessly, and then are able to climb the tree back to their nest.
It sounds like a few climbers I used to know.
