A freakish weather event has filled the Iqaluit Bay with bullet hard shed to house sized icebergs. At low tide it offers one if the weirdest bouldering sessions you're ever likely to have.

So, you're fiddling about on lumps of ice. The big question is; are you going to be doing some 'proper climbing', or trekking? Or are you determined to establish a new sub sport?

This is me now Steve, I'm moving to the arctic and throwing everything I have into, erm, tidal sea ice bouldering. Conditions today were a total mare, not damp enough, too cold, and don't get me started on the dew point...

It's a new sport, and it's called bergering. People who take part are often referred to as silly bergers.
