Martin was a very talented climber but very laid back.He would sit around while we worked climbs then flash them. On cloggy one day he had done a route and had stopped for the day. His partner went on and on about the Boldest, in the end Martin go a handfull of gear, never said a word, walked up it, back to the bottom and continued to relax without a word said.

The last E3 I led (certainly now) was a Martin Taylor route, Dextrous Hare at Millstone, I managed to kick all my runners out at the crux and thought of Martin soloing the first ascent with just a hanging rope by him :-)
